Kevin Meany is a seasoned advertising and marketing executive with 30 years of experience in strategy, advertising and public relations. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with prominent national brands and provided strategic counsel to top corporate executives.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Mr. Meany currently serves as the President and CEO of 9Rooftops, a progressive marketing, advertising and creative agency blending strategy, creativity and industry-leading data science and analytics to help brands stay ahead of a profoundly changing marketplace.
In 2020, Mr. Meany spearheaded the strategic overhaul of three distinct marketing firms—BFG Communications, MARC USA and BLR—into the unified entity 9Rooftops. Staying true to his entrepreneurial background, he applies non-traditional and innovative approaches to secure the agency's long-term success and drive client growth, effectively combining data science and analytics with creative strategies.
Prior to launching 9Rooftops, Mr. Meany was CEO of BFG Communications, an experience marketing firm he founded in 1995, which quickly grew into a nationally recognized integrated marketing force providing strategically grounded expertise across multiple disciplines to major brands and properties including Captain Morgan Rum, Coca-Cola, South Carolina Tourism, Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band, Major League Baseball, NASCAR and Cartoon Networks’ Adult Swim.
Before founding BFG Communications, Mr. Meany held leadership roles in many other organizations, including Executive Vice President of 141 Worldwide a Bates Worldwide company.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL BACKGROUND
A native New Yorker, with a stint as a California surfer kid, Mr. Meany was a candidate for a Ph.D. in psychology over two decades ago before deciding to turn his penchant for mind molding to marketing.
A passionate entrepreneur, Mr. Meany has served on multiple boards and assumed many advisory roles. He is an Ambassador for Economic Development for the State of South Carolina, has published numerous articles on marketing and leadership and is a visiting lecturer at the University of South Carolina.
Mr. Meany has always had a passion for exceptional cars and thrilling drives. He has logged countless hours racing on tracks and has a knack for restoring outstanding vehicles from recent decades to their former glory. Recently, he has been refurbishing a rare 1995 BMW M3 Lightweight prototype, while his 1989 Porsche Turbo “Special Wishes” was showcased by Porsche North America at the esteemed Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
His interests, beyond cars, include boating and fishing, family and grandchildren and his latest entrepreneurial venture – “Monster Lemon,” a Commercial lemon farm in Daufuskie Island South Carolina. Mr. Meany lives in Hilton Head, SC with his wife Shari. They have two wonderful children, Ryan and Alexa, and two grandchildren, Meyer (like the lemon) and Reese.
EDUCATION
Mr. Meany earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Alfred University and his MA in Clinical Psychology from Fairleigh-Dickinson University.
