As the first Tourism Director for Berkeley County, Rachel is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing and communication strategies that encourage overnight visitation to Berkeley County. Her previous experience includes serving as the Director of Philanthropy at Trident Literacy Association. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from the University of South Carolina Aiken, with a minor in Journalism.
Rachel is dedicated to serving in the hospitality, tourism and travel industry and has a passion for learning. She finds value in building connections and fostering positive relationships in her community. Rachel serves on several boards/committees including the Berkeley 250 Revolutionary War Commission, the South Carolina Nature-Based Tourism Association, the South Carolina Agritourism Association (Lowcountry Director) the South Carolina Travel and Tourism Coalition and the South Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association (ad hoc Hospitality and Tourism Legislative Forum Committee).
Outside of work, Rachel prefers to spend time outside in nature creating special memories with her husband, two beautiful children and their beloved black labrador retriever. Her favorite outdoor hobbies include horseback riding, swimming, boating and scuba diving.
