Grey Raines is a Managing Partner of Raines, one of the southeast’s premier hospitality, management, development, and investment groups. Grandson of Rock Raines, who founded Raines Hospitality in 1997, and son of Mark Raines, a hotelier and industry executive, Grey comes from a family of hospitality entrepreneurs that has been in operation for more than 50 years, combined. Following in his family’s footsteps, Grey has been at the helm of Raines, overseeing the company’s growth and development over the past decade. Though immersed in the industry his whole life, Grey officially began his career as a short order cook at the Courtyard by Marriott in Florence, SC in 2003. Passionate about the family business and developing his industry knowledge, he continued working his way up, serving in nearly every front of house position possible from front desk associate, front office manager, and general manager to Vice President of Development, and finally President in 2013. Over the course of his tenure, Grey has helped grow Raines from two hotels in Florence, SC, to what is now over 50 hotels spanning the Southeast. Grey’s approach to hospitality is centered around people – his colleagues, partners, and the guests he serves at Raines’ properties. He is proud of the team they have cultivated, and he is passionate about maintaining a family culture within the growing company. Under his direction, the growing firm is focused on the stewardship of his family’s business and continues to build upon the foundation it is rooted in. Grey and his entire team of highly experienced hospitality professionals put forth every effort to be the preferred partner in all development, management, and investment projects in the Southeast. Residing in his hometown on Florence, SC, Grey continues to be involved in the community, serving on various South Carolina boards and councils. In his free time, Grey enjoys spending time with his wife, Ginnie, and their three children, Grace, Grey Jr., and Jackson.
