Adam Gorlitsky Set Guinness World Record at 2020 Charleston Marathon

The man behind the “I GOT LEGS” non-profit organization, Adam Gorlitsky, set a Guinness World Record this weekend at the 10th annual Charleston Marathon when he completed the marathon as an exoskeleton athlete in 33 hours, 50 minutes, and 24 seconds. This time was 3 hours faster than the previous exoskeleton athlete’s Guinness World Record time of 36 hours and 46 minutes, held by 2019 London Marathon competitor, Simons Kindleyside.

After a crash in 2005, Gorlitsky became paralyzed from the waist down. In 2015, he was given the opportunity to use a ReWalk robotic exoskeleton which gave him the ability to walk again. Gorlitsky is super active throughout the Charleston community, and his non- profit, I GOT LEGS, is a true testament to just how dedicated he is to giving back to his community and supporting those dealing with physical difficulties.

I GOT LEGS is:

ReEnabling athletes with physical challenges by providing opportunities, programs, and grants that unlock an improved quality of life.
Our ultimate goal is to support improvements to life changing technology for the physically challenged.
