Foreigner May Do More Dates With Original Lineup in 2018

Original Foreigner frontman Lou Gramm says the band's 40th anniversary shows that included himself and the other founding members of the band couldn't have gone better.

Band leader Mick Jones paired the current lineup of the band with its classic lineup for a number of special shows this past summer and fall.

In a new interview with Rock Band Reviews, Gramm says everyone got along and "we're gonna do some more, I think."

Gramm, multi-instrumentalist Ian McDonald and keyboardist Al Greenwood joined Jones and company onstage for the encore of a July show at Jones Beach Theater in New York.

Then in October the original lineup performed two shows in Michigan that were filmed for a coming release.

"It was great to get back onstage with the original Foreigner," Gramm said. "We played about six or seven songs; it was a lot of fun. And Mick, of course, played with us. And then the two bands — the Foreigner of today and the original Foreigner — actually played a few songs together, and that was also fun. And they are really nice guys and good musicians."

The singer added that "everything is kind of poised for a fun an interesting summer."
