Black Sabbath is earning praise for their reunion with frontman Ozzy Osbourne. The group was a big winner at the "Classic Rock Roll of Honor" event, staged by the UK's "Classic Rock" magazine.
Sabbath was celebrated as this year's Living Legend, and also took two fan-voted categories. The group's 13 - their first studio effort with Ozzy since 1978 - was named Album of the Year, and they got the nod for Event of the Year for topping the chart with "13." The disc became Black Sabbath's first album in 43 years to hit number one on the UK chart - it was their first number one album in the U.S.
In accepting their honors Ozzy admitted it was "an incredible event" for them, and he "never thought" he'd still be around and getting recognized 45 years after launching his career.
The Rolling Stones, meanwhile got the nod for Band of the Year, as the most exciting rock group of the past 12 months. Mick Jagger offered a video acceptance, saying he and his bandmates were "delighted" to earn the award after having "a fantastic time" performing in their homeland this year.
Other honorees included Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Mott The Hoople, and Rush's Alex Lifeson. The 2013 "Classic Rock Roll of Honour" was presented in a ceremony in London on Thursday.
