Authorities say 37-year-old Vamond Elmore, wanted for murder in Norwalk, Connecticut, was holding a gun as he tried to run from a hotel room near Interstate 95 in St. George, South Carolina on July 22.

Area media outlets report that First Circuit Solicitor David Pascoe announced Monday the two agents acted in accordance with the law. Authorities said that Elmore came out of the hotel with a pistol and instead of surrendering, pointed it the agents who fired.

The solicitor found the agents acted in the good faith belief that Elmore posed a significant risk to themselves and others.
