From our News Partners at WCBD-TV:

CHARLESTON, SC - Pete Ambrose has been farming on Wadmalaw Island for 40 years.  He says while he has had small dust ups before about his 18x18 seasonal signage dotting the side of the roads it has never been this bad.

Recently City of Charleston Zoning officials dropped by his farm and gave him a court date and a citation for $1,092.00.  The signs saying "U-pick strawberries Ambrose Farms" were on City of Charleston owned land and Ambrose was cited.

They asked why political signs are allowed without a permit and officials told Ambrose Farms the political signs are exempt.

News 2 will have more on this story later in the day.
