From our News Partners at WCBD-TV:
Tropical Storm Arthur continues to get better organized late Tuesday, as it drifts slowly north around 6 MPH just east of Cape Canaveral on the Florida peninsula. The storm still has maximum sustained winds around 60 MPH. A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for Georgetown county but significant impacts are not anticipated at this time.
"Arthur's satellite and radar presentations continue to improve," said Storm Team 2 Meteorologist Josh Marthers. "This signals an increasing potential for further strengthening and I wouldn't be surprised if we have a hurricane today."
According to the official forecast from the National Hurricane Center, Arthur will become a hurricane late Wednesday or Thursday as the center of the storm passes well to the east of SC. By Thursday night or Friday, the Outer Banks of North Carolina could be in the storm's path.
Storm Team 2 will continue to monitor the latest trends and alert you of any changes.
